After working for several years as an assistant producer on programmes such as Britain's Got Talent (see his tv experience for more info), Scott completed a masters at RADA where he studied writing as well as acting and played such roles as Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing (dir. By Kelly Spencer Wilson).
Scott has since written and starred in his own play, Nothing to Perform, which earned ★★★★★ at the 2017 Camden Fringe Festival. MEIWES/BRANDES, his second self written/performed piece, premiered at The Tristan Bates Theatre in 2018 as part of their inaugural John Thaw Initiative.
Although technically a ‘work in progress’ performance, MEIWES/BRANDES received rave reviews and was called “strange, dark, tense, captivating and unsettling” by Luca Molinari, who also said it was “well worth seeing” (London Theatre Review ★★★★).
Susy Brett of The Live Review also said that Scott’s performance was “excellent” and “refreshingly honest”.
MEIWES/BRANDES was chosen to appear at the RADA Festival. Further reviews and information can be found at meiwesbrandes.com
Scott's third play, 'Play 2' was just performed for the first time at The Cockpit Theatre after a week of research and development. It will now undergo a rewrite with a view to perform it's first London run in early 2019.
All of Scott's work is still in development. If you are interested in programming one of Scott's plays at your theatre, send Scott an email.

“‘Nothing to Perform’ has “wit and compassion … It’s engaging and charming and will read beautifully.”
Davey, Andrew and Tom are three caretakers from the north-east of England. They wrote, rehearsed and produced a play which no one will ever see. Nothing to Perform is the funny, heart-warming and brutally honest story of why.
Nothing to Perform received ★★★★★ from The Open Door.
"Scott Howland’s script is excellently crafted. The crassly funny, and subtly touching naturalism of the trio plays like clockwork, which is lifted beautifully by the understated performances." Alice Flynn, The Open Door
"Howland is relaxed, charming and has a natural ability to command attention on stage." Broadwayworld UK
